So the story is....I was looking through my brothers closet and found old wood planks that used to be shelves from a bookcase. They were painted stark black, but had little wear. I flipped one panel over and saw that there was a groove along the back of each one. With my inner Pinterest obsessed creative senses tingling, I sprung to action with my master homemade DIY wall art plan!
**But no like seriously guys, if you've ever seen Jimmy Neutron, you know how he has those weird science AHA! moments....well that is what happened, but instead of science, my brain went into super engineering arts and crafts mode...haha..I am an arts and crafts engineer!
But to make a short story even longer, I took the panels, painted them with a light blue base coat and then proceeded to write inspiring messages inspired by some of my favorite Disney movies. And of course I had to paint some characters on their to:)
Inspired by Disney Pixar's Brave: I painted the blue wisps, some tufts of Merida's gorgeous locks, and either Hamish, Hubert, or Harris in bear form....you pick:)
Inspired by Disney's Tangled: This quote is from the movie and is said by one of the thugs to Rapunzel in the snuggle duckling. On the right I painted the hanging lanterns and the left is sort of a mimic to Rapunzel's murals throughout her tower.
Inspired by Disney Pixar's Monster's University and Finding Nemo: I painted Nemo and college Mike Wazowski on this one because they best represented the quote I chose.
**All of these I hung up using adhesive nail backings that I purchased at target.**
